Abstract: The impact of continuing professional development (CPD) on adult educators was investigated to understand how ongoing training influences teaching effectiveness and professional growth. The study aimed to evaluate the relationship between CPD and teaching performance, identify the benefits of CPD in career advancement, and assess the challenges faced by educators in accessing CPD opportunities. A survey design was utilized for its effectiveness in capturing detailed responses from participants. The sample size included 200 adult educators, selected through purposive sampling to focus on those actively involved in CPD activities. The research was conducted in Benue, Nigeria, an area with a vibrant community of adult educators. Findings revealed that CPD significantly enhanced teaching performance, provided substantial career advancement opportunities, and contributed to professional growth. However, challenges such as time constraints and limited access to CPD resources were also identified. Recommendations included increasing funding for CPD programs, creating more flexible training schedules, and developing a centralized platform for sharing CPD resources and opportunities.
